Some say that charity starts in the home and I would agree with this. It does – we agree!
We recently thought about holding donations events from the home – it’s basically just getting together plenty of items that you no longer need. You can just place the in your kitchen or living room, for example and let people come in and have a look at what they might want to take away with them! It’s a great way to socialise too! Why not give it a go?
We really love Freecycle and suggest that you take a look at it but if you don’t enjoy the sound of it, no problem, think on donating more of your items to charity shops OR you can easily sell items on eBay and make some extra cash!!
Anything is better than binning items that may still have a future 🙂
So, very interestingly, the price of copper shot up after Brexit was announced. We thought that taking the opportunity to inform local builders about this would give them an added incentive to take some copper pipes etc down their local scrap yard instead of placing it in landfill! So in our very first post in this brand new and gorgeous blog of ours, we spoke about how you can help the planet by reusing lots of different items that you thin should be thrown away. Stop! We can help you with some great recycling ideas!
- Plastic bottles – don’t just use them once and then throw them away! This is criminal in today’s world! Just refill them with tap water afterwards OR buy a water filter and fill up with more filtered water. Clean your bottle now and again with some mild dish washing soap and reuse! Ta-da! Free and planet friendly.
- Carrier bags – so now most shops charge, there is even more of an incentive to reuse carrier bags! Each and every time that you visit a store to buy food etc, just take a few large, sturdy bags that you bought for 10-20p from Tescos etc. These bags are very strong and last for weeks / months on end! Never forget them. 🙂

We LOVE helping others help our planet’s environment. We are a team of three good friends working in an art studio in Essex (located somewhere between Colchester and Chelmsford) and have developed this blog purely so that we can share our tips and ideas about recycling and taking care of the environment. 🙂
It should also be a cathartic project and allow us to cool off after long days at work and long weekends running errands at home! Lol. 😀
